This would be the key point wouldn't it.
Ideally, PostGIS would be a library that could simply be "CREATE
FUNCTION"'ed into the installation of PG.
I haven't investigated it because we have only had a couple of people ask
about it.
If it becomes a matter of "CREATE FUNCTION" only, then we can look into
making sure that it's fully parallel and optimize for the large cases where
we can do some good.
BTW - one of the people who approached us in the middle of '05 was Zillow.
We didn't have anything for them at the time, but could see that MPP +
PostGIS would have been a killer combo for them. They went with the
"popular commercial database" instead, which I'm sure wasn't nearly as good
(they got slashdotted on their initial release) and cost millions.
