Luke - thanks for all the detail!
I second your conclusion - even on my fairly old HW, its IO system can
do 50M/s writes and 80M/s reads, but I typically get only about 1/10th
of that using (server side) COPY, and one (700MHz) CPU is maxed out the
whole time...
Anyway, I will try out your test program and patch.
